Chile; Carabineros  to receive 4 Hunter TR-12 armored vehicles from Colombia

As published by the Defense Website “InfoDefensa” on March 18, 2024, Colombia will deliver to Chilean Carabineros (Police force) four Hunter TR-12 4×4 armored vehicles designed and manufactured by the Company Armor International based in Colombia. The vehicle is already in service with Colombian and Suriname armed forces.

Defense cooperation between Chile and Colombia extends beyond bilateral agreements and includes their involvement in regional defense organizations and initiatives. Both nations are part of the Pacific Alliance, an economic and development alliance which also includes Mexico and Peru, aiming to foster integration among its members, including in the field of defense. This multilateral cooperation framework may facilitate joint military exercises, defense industry collaboration, and shared security strategies against common threats.

Additionally, Chile and Colombia are both active members of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations, platforms through which they can collaborate on broader international security and defense matters. Their participation in these organizations allows for cooperation in peacekeeping missions, the promotion of regional stability, and discussions on global defense and security challenges.
